Langs de grenzen van Drenthe - 2 Emmer Compascuum - Barger Compascuum
Wandeling langs de grenzen van Drenthe, etappe 2 van Emmer naar Barger Compascuum. De bus passeert een kattenhotel en een megastore voor etalagepoppen. Ik verlaat het dorp door de achterdeur en volg de weg het dichtst bij de Duitse grens. Ook hier worden meningen verkondigd (zeer duidelijk). Iemand verkoopt aardappelen, hooi en stro in compromisloos Drents. Ik kom aan in Barger Compascuum, dat zijn 150e verjaardag viert. Nu begrijp ik het woord 'compascuum': gemeenschappelijke weidegronden (ligt voor de hand eigenlijk). Door het park bereik de bushalte in het centrum.
Walk along the borders of Drenthe, stage 2, from Emmer to Barger Compascuum. The bus to Emmer Compas passes a cat-hotel and a megastore for shopwindow-mannequins. Leaving the village though the backdoor, I follow the road closest to the German border. Also here opinions are made clear in the frontyard (very clear). Someone sells potatoes, hay and straw in uncompromising Drents. I arrive in Barger Compascuum, which is celebrating its 150th anniversary. Now I understand the word 'compascuum': common pasturing grounds (obvious actually). Through the park I reach the busstop in the centre.
